Quarterly Badsey Society newsletter sent to members. Events: quiz night won by blacksmith’s team and successful exhibition at Badsey First School’s Christmas Bazaar. Future events: another pot-washing session of finds found at Under Badsey run by the South Worcestershire Archaeological Group; computer-taster session; talk by Elizabeth Howard of Worcestershire Record Office (WRO) and village walk following route of 1901 census enumerator. Society was to exhibit at Badsey First School Fete and Flower Show and book launch was soon. 14 former pupils/staff went back on a tour to Badsey School including Molly Corbett (nee Evans) and her granddaughter Helen and Mrs Elizabeth Spencer the Head Teacher, a former pupil. School memories were recalled from, the 1920’s to the 1970’s. The WRO might have a photograph of your house if it was built in 1968 or earlier. Collection formed part of Worcestershire Photographic Survey. We said goodbye to Adrian Hough, the Vicar of Badsey in 1997, and family who were moving to the Shetland Isles. Reported death of Peggy Wheatley who assisted her late husband Ted in his business at “The Poplars” garage. His granddaughter Emma-Jane is participating in filming of asparagus video. Plus invitation to Computer Taster Session where facilities of Evesham Technology would be used. AGM was being relocated from Badsey School to Remembrance Hall at request of members. Names of Committee members: Terry Sparrow (Chairman/Treasurer), Maureen Spinks (Secretary), Will Dallimore (Membership Secretary), Marion Allen, Tony Jerram, Richard Phillips, Neil Thould, Carolyn Worth.
