Quarterly Badsey Society newsletter sent to members. Events: Orchard Walk and Badsey First School Summer Fete. Report on Badsey Guides 50th Anniversary. 1st Badsey Guides was started by Mary Florence Charlotte King, sister of the Late Henry King of Bretforton Road, in 1930 but was disbanded in 1950. Mrs Elizabeth Bolland reopened the Unit in 1976 and was still running it. Request for memories from old Badsey Boy Scouts which was started in late 1940’s. Deaths reported of Reg Kyte, former church organist and choirmaster, and Roger Davies. Geoff Brooks replied to our request for War-time Memories. Geoff recalling that pigeons from the National Pigeon Service were used as message carriers in Second World War and Sadler brothers, Charles, Henry and Arthur, of Bully Brook House were keen pigeon-fanciers. Future events: Badsey Flower Show; Badsey Village Walk; Computer training and a talk on men of Badsey who fought and fell during the First World War by Colonel John Lowles on the Worcestershire Regiment which would be replacing Judith Curthoys’ deferred talk. Names of Committee members: Will Dallimore (Chairman), Maureen Spinks (Secretary), Terry Sparrow (Treasurer), Mike Lovatt, Ian Gibson, Tony Jerram, Richard Phillips, Neil Thould.
