Description

Letter (i) from John Bird of 66 Synehurst to Richard Phillips, dated 2nd November 2008, enclosing copies of three photographs enlarged from small ones: (ii) "The shop is the original building my father built when he moved up from Vale Cottage right at the top of Old Post Office Lane about 1930"; (iii) "The 2 cars are a Minerva and an Essex, my dad's taxis taken about 1930 (you would not be able to park 2 cars side by side today owing to the amount of traffic on that road), Badsey; incidentally as kids we were able to put jackets down in the road and play football without moving for vehicles very often."(iv) "The 14-seater bus my Dad had about the same time, Badsey; I'm not sure if the driver is my dad or one of my uncles." The shop was located on the Bretforton Road, near the end of the footpath which runs from Old Post Office Lane.
