It includes a poem by Brian Smith and the foreword by Professor Stephen Badsey. The book also covers agriculture and food production, prisoners of war, the role of women and the home front. The title page is signed by the author. It is illustrated throughout with photographs and letters etc., a painting by Michael Barnard and the cover is illustrated by Ian Gibson.
